Hello!
I would like to start my first blog post as an introduction to Coly's Creations and myself Nichole Eddy. I have been married to my husband Shannon for almost 11 years and he needs to be sainted for being with me for this long. He works hard to provide me with the ability to be a stay at home mom to our son and help support my efforts in Coly's Creations. Our son Danny is 10 whom I also home school. Coly's Creations has a health aspect in it's creation and with that I love to cook healthy homemade meals that come from my garden but I love a good cheeseburger and ice cream. I am also a complete nerd. I have always had a hard time fitting in and tend to stay quiet to feel out my surroundings. And what do I mean by nerd, the correct answer to question, Star Wars or Star Trek?, is yes. I love anime and manga's, Dr. Who, Marvel and DC comics (as well as most of the movies, I am really into things being cannon),the books of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, etc. (and who am I kidding the movies too) and basically anything that is sci-fi or epic fantasy. Video games where would I be without them. Totally into any epic fantasy RPG's, strategy games, MMORPGs. Best way to sum this up is when I was looking into buying a laptop I asked the salesman what graphic card was in it to see if it would support videos games, his response was "that I shouldn't worry about it because it would support the games I play like Candy Crush". I walked away and my husband leaned over and said "you know you just lost a sale right?, she plays WOW and other games like that". I am also a history nerd. I love history and can't get enough. I read "boring" history books and watch documentaries like I am still in school. I get migraines from when people can't answer simple history questions like when was the War of 1812? I also love to create, whether it be to help create backgrounds for lobby/stage decorations for children's ministry at church, fundraisers, or just simple arts and crafts. But my favorite is to decorate for Halloween and Christmas. I just wanted you guys to get a little insight to who I am as a person.

It's all in the Name
The name Coly's Creations has a pretty simple meaning. I have 1 older brother and 5 younger sisters. Growing up, some of the younger family members had a difficult time saying Nichole, so we just came up with the nickname of Coly. My youngest sister has apraxia and she shortened it to Oly. Now with nieces and nephews it's still just Coly. Creations just seemed to fit because I create things.

Why I do what I do
Ever since I was young I have had skin irritations and reactions to most detergents, cosmetics and skin/body care. With that trying to find companies that stick to a formula and that are affordable in being organic and/or natural has sometimes been a difficult find. As I got older, a healthy lifestyle of choice natural and organic ways has been appealing to me. Then about three years ago my husband was diagnosed with having precancerous cells where his thyroid use to be. The doctors wanted to be very aggressive in his treatments, and in his unique case the side affects of the treatments had a high risk of causing more harm than good and could have potentially given him cancer. With a ton of research, he detoxed and his issue has improved and almost gone away. Learning that your skin is your largest organ that absorbs a lot of toxicities, I started to make soap. With that some family members became interested in my soap. With help from some of my family members I got into some vendor spots at events and started to sell my soap. And with meeting a ton of people, I found out that that the are a lot of people in our situations. People that have skin sensitivities, health concerns that they want to use homeopathic ways in dealing with, to people that just want natural/organic products to aid in their healthy lifestyle. With talking with all these people, I could see a way in which I could provide a product/service to help them with their goals. For this reason is why I focus on creating products with natural and organic ingredients with you in mind.
